THC Sally Fallon Morell Nourishing Traditions Interview on The Higherside Chats Podcast

Sally Fallon Morell | The Industrialized Diet, Nourishing Traditions, & The Contagion Myth

Show Notes

Today’s guest, Sally Fallon Morell, is best known as the author of Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats. This well-researched, thought-provoking guide to traditional foods contains a startling message: animal fats and cholesterol are not villains but vital factors in the diet, necessary for normal growth, proper function of the brain and nervous system, protection from disease and optimum energy levels.

She’s also the founding President of the Weston A. Price Foundation, a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of nutrition pioneer Dr. Weston Price, whose studies of isolated nonindustrialized peoples established the parameters of human health and determined the optimum characteristics of human diets. The Foundation is dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense foods to the human diet through education, research and activism.

Pre-order Sally’s upcoming book, The Contagion Myth: Why Viruses (including “Coronavirus”) Are Not the Cause of Disease, co-authored with Dr. Thomas S. Cowan.

  1. Oh, wow! I can't believe you have Sally Fallon on. Way to go, Greg. I'm playing catch up right now. Going to listen to Chris Knowles first. So much to say. Even more to listen to. Cheers / alex

  2. Always good to have confirmation on eating veal liver. I guess I have a slight moral apprehension to veal but also justify it as probably going to waste if I don’t buy it, and it’s much cleaner than a grown cow’s liver. I try to tell the food I’ll at least put it’s suffering to use in some way, like we’re some sort of super entity and invite it to help enjoy the day as a part of me. Would love to be able to get enough land to raise some dairy goats and maybe ducks and supplement additional food through neighboring farms and hunting eventually but for now I'm just another vulture navigating the the system I suppose, but I try to eat the cleanest carrion with what I got to spend if you catch my drift.

  3. i never think my comments through but i wanted to include that you squeezed a variety of good questions in there. i was also encouraged by the comment that small farms are growing and not going extinct. thanks

  4. I was a vegetarian for 25 years until I started hanging out with native americans who suggested I would be healthier if I went back to eating meat.  I've never regretted it. Obviously factory farms are vile but I've been on biodynamic farms that definitely feel like spiritual places. Now I live in a small community in the peruvian Amazon where I am very grateful to have access to natural, economically-priced meat.

Thanks for a great show Greg and glad to hear you eat a traditional diet.

I am tied in with the Waldorf schools movement in Peru and they have not caved in to vaccination pressure as far as I can tell.

Interesting to hear that Baal Gates funded the Silicon Valley Waldorf school but the universe is full of paradoxes…

  5. She brought up vaccinations and  the severing of the spiritual connection. I always remember the story Credo Mutwa, Zulu shaman told. They, the Zulu, knew that the vaccination pushed on them caused the children to no longer be able to see into the spiritual world, ie. auras, ghosts, what she call "circus stuff". Credo said their grandmothers would heat a piece of grain and hold it to their arm so a blister that mimiced the look of the vaccine to trick the priests who ran the schools.

    Great interview.

  6. This episode is so near and dear to my heart.  My wife and I were vegan for 12 years until we learned of Weston Price.  Our health is 100x better since the switch.  We have raised our daughter as  a Weston Price baby and she is absolutely incredible. She's not even 4 and reading, never sick, not vaccinated, always happy and just way ahead of the majority of her peers.  Animal fats and proteins are so important!  If you care about your health at all you really need to take what Sally says seriously, she is so wise and willing to share.  On a side note I cured my allergy to poison oak with Raw Milk.  I used to get poison oak 10 times a year at least and have even been put into the hospital for extended amounts of time for it.  After six months of drinking raw milk everyday, I am no longer allergic to poison oak.  I even walked through a patch on purpose to test out the theory!  Much love yall and thanks so much Greg!  Weston A. Price diet is a real game changer!!!!!

  7. Greg, thank you for introducing us to Sally. This was an incredible and heartening interview. She was lock-step with you on every single question and spitting truth like a 5G tower spits plandemic rays.

  8. She is a living legend, thanks for having her on.  I've had Nourishing Traditions book for many years.  Good to hear about the MCT oil,  I had no idea.  I threw out all plant oils except olive oil a while ago.

  9. I have 3 kids, and until discovering Steiner I feel like I have done everything wrong.

I regret vaccinating my kids, least of which because parents are bullied into it. 2 of my children have life threatening food allergies to a litany of foods, and I try hard to feed them right.

We are a Waldorf homeschooling family, but there are still so many aspects of our life that are antithetical to Steiner's teachings. It's exhausting being a parent in 2020.

I wish I had known about NT when I was pregnant and breastfeeding; so much mom guilt. But we all do the best we can with the knowledge we have at that moment.

I have zero doubt that the combinations of food, toxic chemicals, and electrical interference have impacts on our physical, emotional, and spiritual life. Thank you for the interview.

  10. So very glad you had her on  THC.  I’ve had her cookbook for a good while, and my kids and family thrive based on Weston A. Price foundations’  information.

Please consider having her as a guest again after her new book comes out.

  11. Dear Greg,

    Thanks for every podcast.

About cooking and eating the heart, my grandparents boiled and pickled the heart by boiling it till cooked then slicing it thinly and putting vinegar and salt to taste and letting it sit for a half hour or more. The tongue is good this way as well. With tea and saltines it's a meal from the old country.

    1. You’re entitled to your opinion, but I’ve spoken to dozens of people who felt weak and feeble on a vegan/veg diet, and felt much better once they switched to largely animal fats. I’ve spoken to nobody who has had the opposite experience.

  12. a bit concerned about this – I have been a vegetarian since leaving home after being born not liking meat. My daughter has beenp; been a vegetarian all her life and has 4 healthy children 2 of whom are vegetarians. We do like milk and cheese. i also discovered I was gluten ie glyphosphate allergic and so do not eat it. I do not take vaccines which I think is the worst toxin. This one size fits all is just not a good idea. My daughter and I have both had our gall bladders removed due to they said too much dairy which would have been worse with fatty meat.

  13. PS Myself my daughter and the 2 eldest grandchildren have /are attended university. We are all tall and strong with the smallest one being the mainly meat eater – that is good quality home cooked food
