Today on everyone’s favorite conspiracy podcast:

Join The Higherside Chat podcast as host Greg Carlwood talks corporate conspiracies, Robin William’s death, and media manipulation with guest, Richard Belzer.

Unfortunately, we find ourselves living in a world, where it seems corporations are allowed to shamelessly poison us through pharmaceuticals and nutrient deficient foods.
We are now in the middle of a devastating crisis, compounded in part, because the channels for conquering this corporate corruption have dried up, and seeking restitution and solutions through our justice system is but a dream.
Today’s guest, Richard Belzer has dedicated much of his life to researching the corporatocracy of America and joins The Higherside to discuss the revolving door between the corporate sector and government that has become a burden to society, while giving the privileged elite a notable advantage.
3:00 As a successful comedian and actor, Richard has ran in the Hollywood circle for years. And yet, despite his successes and the temptations to rest on his laurels, Belzer has spent his life researching conspiracies and leveraged his celebrity status to help shed a light onto some of life’s more unsavory subjects. Richard explains how his rebellious nature and investigative inclinations proved to be valuable assets in his exploration.
5:42 In his book “Corporate Conspiracies: How Wall Street Took Over Washington”, Belzer lays the framework for how and why we currently find ourselves in an unwinnable war against corporations. Richard also elaborates on the circumstances surrounding the death of Robbin Williams, the role of Big Pharma, and why is his mind, Williams’ death was a murder, not suicide. Greg and Richard detail the ways in which the system is designed to embolden pharmaceutical companies, the racket created to ensure their profits remain strong, and the correlation between the mood of the country and drug use.
15:00 With the effects of corporate products felt throughout various aspects of our lives, Greg and Richard take a moment to address the most well-known and influential kingpins in this arena: Dow Chemical Company and Monsanto. With Monsanto bearing the burden of being “the world’s most evil company”, Richard expounds on the multiple products, such as saccharin, Roundup, GMOs, and Agent Orange, and their devastating effects on both people and planet. Belzer also offers up solutions to this insurmountable issue including limiting their financial influence in politics.
26:50 After discussing Big Pharma and food deserts, Greg and Richard move onto examining Hollywood’s use of propaganda to sculpt the collective consciousness and glorify the military industrial complex. In his book, Belzer references movies such as “American Sniper” and “Zero Dark Thirty” as transparent examples of government influence in Hollywood. They also discuss the CIA’s use of the mainstream media as another weapon in the arsenal during Operation Mockingbird as far back as the 1950s.
34:42 Richard explains his thoughts on the responsibility of actors when choosing roles. He articulates on the sovereignty of actors, and their ability to turn down parts that may run counter to the personal beliefs.

    • And after listening Greg, let the naysayers say all the nay they want to nay, you booked Richard Belzer. For an old comedy head like myself, golden. Plus (see what I did there) He speaks intelligently on corporate corruption and the true power behind it all. Tremendous show sir ;]]

  1. Belzer! Skor! If you didn’t know it already, Greg, your quirky little podcast is officially alternative mainstream. Hate to use the M word though.

I fear Monsanto is literally too big to fail. Its monster tentacles stretch too far and wide and they’d barely notice a boycott by the general public. We’d need the majority of the public to boycott not only Round-Up but also all GMO foods, at least. Even that may only cause them the inconvenience of PR damage control and to step up their publishing of fake scientific research. They’d become more devious if that’s possible. I think the only chance for success would be getting corporate farming on board. Call me a pessimist, that ain’t gonna happen.

The single thing that must happen to initiate the return of our country to the people is to get ALL money out of politics. Their only currency being our kind of living wage paycheck and our individual votes. Until then, we are throwing buckets of water on an out of control forest fire.

  2. Greg, I love your podcast, but this guy is a light weight and a hack. Come on bro, Rachel Maddow is a real journalist and we went to the moon? Kudos to you for booking a big name, but the guy is an actor and it doesn’t get any more fake than that.

    • I agree as well. I find it interesting that I tend to come across quite a few celebrity “conspiracy theorist” that have and promote a similar type of ancient alien cosmology that they present when they’re in alternative realms. I’m throwing in my personal bias here but my eyes glaze over whenever there is talk of UFOs, especially when its ET themed. Maybe all celebrities aren’t MK ultra ridden slaves, pedophilic human traffickers, and/or propaganda pushers but I I’m pretty sure Belzer has seen enough in Hollywood to confirm that there is some semblance of there that’s there…maybe not? Anyway, those Apollo missions look very fake so it’s hard sell for me to even say we went once…

I don’t just dismiss people I disagree with so I will say he had some things to bring to the table. I really like when people bring up the fact that the CIA came up with the term “conspiracy theory”. Check the declassified documents.

  3. This system is fully locked in, and much like a well-oiled machine, working effectively and efficiently. Western civilization, for my entire 47 years, has done nothing but decline. False hopes are created to pacify the masses, but it’s all a charade. Belzer, as aware as he is, is not gonna say anything too inflammatory because he’s equally aware of their ability to yank his chain and he does not want to see his status decline or life end. Our criticisms, as obvious and valid as they are, are not changing anything. Stating the obvious does nothing to put a halt to it. We live in a world where we can wave pedophilia into the face of the average American and they’ll ask you to move out of the way so they can watch the game. At some point we need to seriously consider this… the best thing for the world might very well be the extinction of such a wasteful, clueless, reckless species…aka humans. All humans do is fuck up everything they touch. We have 2 types of assholes. A small group that run shit, and then a huge group who tolerate and obey them. Collectively, we are a cancer.

  4. Hmm, where’s my comment from yesterday gone?!
Anyway, yes, as I said yesterday, never heard of the chap and imo he’s derivative and very lightweight. After the Miguel episode this was real stinker but good on you for trying in what sounded like an uphill struggle.

  5. Hey Greg, love the show but I have to comment on the fact that Mr Belzer is still drinking the Kool-Aid as to the members of “the press’ he cited as not being the propagandists that they so blatantly are. Still love ya Greg and will always be a subscriber. Peace Love and Dank my friend

  6. Belzer’s extolling Maddow and O’Donnell made me shake my head and examine the deep subjectivity people layer upon their interpretaions of our world. Maybe it was hearing his left wing Hollywood culture attached to bonified conspiracy that was the shock. Perhaps ive just gotten used to filtering out right wing self serving ideas grafted onto otherwise legit conspiracy talk, but I had to draw the line at anyone sourcing MSNBC as journalism.

  7. I’m not the conspiracy police, but in my belief system, (hereafter abbreviated as “BS”), you cannot espose conspiracy theory while simultaneously being so incredibly politically partisan. If you’re truly “woke” homie, you realize both sides are equally in on the game. It’s painful obvious Belzer has a liberal slant which is incompatible with truth. That’s just my BS. . . . .

  8. Haven’t listened yet. Just found it, actually. Issues of things like Maddow and the moon came up in his recent CtoCAM appearance. I used to like the guy but he’s not nearly as widely informed as could be. MSNBC fires people who don’t stay between the corporate moneyed lines. Someone there seems to want trouble with Russia and a pipeline across Syria. He should not be citing them as a source for anything.

The reason I am logged in here and posting right now is to ask what has changed with the forum login? I can’t get logged in there today. Looks like a glitch.

  9. Yea…Lot’s of repitition….pussyfootin’. But Greg isn’t exactly torquing it either with the stoner, golly gee Ron Howard routine. Losing the battle, winning the war ? Depressing. Greg’ll have a Netflix deal pretty soon now.

  10. haven’t listened yet, but read thru the comments ….
always thought belzer was o.k. actor dude, then saw some
piece of film, not sure where … and it was “home movie” style
with him and christopher walken, who, turns out, is one of
his best buddies …. i have always enjoyed walken in his
various roles …. no one has mentioned, so i do not expect
to hear in this interview, if belzer has any opinion on the
cover-up of the death of natalie wood and the fact that walken was there ……

  11. My husband is in a nursing home becase of Agent Orange. He has prostate cancer, severe peripheral neuopathy. Parkinson’s and dementia which they won’t acknowledge. His older brother worked for Monsanto in the ’70’s and 80’s and helped develope Roundup (which is AOrange). He did all the field testing for year’s. When he turned 50’s. They cut him loose with a hefty severance package, health ins and told him not to sue or contact them. He now has severe Parkinson’s and his wife has to care for him. They are evil but the last few years the VA is putting out big bucks to care for these Vets. About 30 years too late. Thank you gor your program snd guests.

  12. Looking forward to this one. Took a break from THC after the basic income one. Greg KarlMarxWood and his love of communism really irks me. He says we can’t have “true capitalism” because it can’t be implemented. Ah Greg, Implemented eh? Greg is totally ok with obeying authority. That’s why he rarely has contrarian thinkers on. Instead we get black goo, spider beings and other nonsense.

  13. I think the fins rot first, literally.
I am perfectly calm and peaceful about what is happening in DC, not taking sides. Just glad the political duality is ending. I just love watching it all play out. Two political parties do not adequately represent the all the political sentiments in this country. I stepped out of the political dualism long ago.
Since cable TV was turned off during Obama’s first election cycle, giving me a good deal of peace as a result, since most “crisis” are false flags these days, I am not familiar with Belzer. Opted for an Apple TV instead. Happy, happy with it. I was not inspired to buy his book.

I do however agree with him on the pharmaceutical issues. I don’t take RX drugs, not any. Never will, if it is for life.
