Hey Greg, since you're excellent at covering a lot of ground and never shying away from nuanceand exploring the middle path of sorts, I wanted to suggest Manda Scott of the Accidental Gods podcast.
In brief, her position is that we must imagine a "Thrutopia" for our collective future, not a utopia or dystopia. And that we must create stories supporting that n direction.
I sure would have loved to hear a conversation between her and Gordon - they cover similar territory but have their own unique angles. She's influenced by EF Shumacker and while there's plenty I don't quite agree with, I feel her concepts are sound and come from an authentic place.
Recently I'd realized my algorithm (external and internal) had collected a lot of low vibe garbage, and it was while I was cleaning it up that I found her work, so I've been digging into her content and taking notes for how I may participate in creating this Thrutopia.
