Anyone Else Done the Coffee Enema Thing?
I'm currently 15 days into an intended 30 day cycle of coffee enemas every morning. I'm using the "green" coffee from the Direction With Purpose lady (who i think has been on before). So far I am really happy with the results. The main thing I've noticed is a massively reduced craving for any kind of sweets and less of an addictive mental response when I do eat them.
I am hoping for something more dramatic along the lines of the "liver dump" or "bile dump" that many people describe.
Has anyone else done anything like this protocol? I'd love to hear other direct experiences
Yeah Ive done coffee enimas, what a pain in the ass! Lol but really they do help clear the system, I felt clear headed after doing that. Not sure if it was from the caffeine or maybe I was having a trauma response?! I dont think its good to do it long term, you need your butt biome. Maybe have some slippery elm or marshmallow, mucilage herbs to restore after many enimas. Oil pulling upon waking does the liver dump thing you are talking about and it is ok to do it every day methinks
I've done a lot of oil pulling and never experienced anything like a liver dump. And I definitely use the herbs you mentioned, great stuff.
I'm not sure that the coffee enemas really purge all the gut biome, it certainly doesn't feel like it to me. But I also do try to consume a good bit of fermented foods daily as well.
My plan is to use up the coffee that I have for it, which will probably end up being around 40 days in a row (though I did miss one day so it won't actually be perfectly uninterrupted) and see what happens/how I feel and go from there. I don't find it to be too difficult or burdensome, just get it into the morning routine and it helps me get up and going early.
We got us a colonic board, its the shit;) goes way deeper than an enema, and so simple a child can use it. Also, not sure coffee is actually good for you, clairvoyant friends say it helps close your third eye. Tea instead. We usually throw in some wormwood, mugwort, other artemesias, lemon balm, mint, other mint familys, and a mallow or elm bark(slippery elm is great) whatevers growing nearby. Anything mucigenic, antiparasitic, and/or astringent. Havent tried it with green tea now that i think about it, but probably also great for you. Nice thing about enema tea is you can't taste it, so you can get real medicinal with it. Coffee always seemed like another addictive substance in my book, but glad to hear you're finding positive results!
@icedmocha1 I'll have to look into the colonic board thing. Don't think I've heard of it.
I'm definitely interested in trying out other mixes. I went with the coffee first because I had found the most consistent reports of positive effects, especially for liver restoration which is high on my list at the moment. I'm using the "green" coffee from Direction with Purpose, which is really a super light roast as it is supposed to have more supportive compounds still present since (as you noted) you're not worried about taste.
Do you have any resources you've used to come up with recipes? Or are you just making teas with leas concern for flavor?
Hmm, info was gleaned from a curandera who I lived with.
But if you think about it, you're just skipping the top, regulatory, section of the digestive tract because the tea is already a usable form, so any tea can be readily absorbed by the colon with much greater efficacy. Any effects gleaned from eating a plant are multiplied when taking it up the butt, so be mindful of dosage, and be well informed on each plant you intend to use before taking it into your body. I recommend starting with what's in your back yard, local plants are already tuned to local biome and earth energies and may already hold the key to what ails you(see the work of Slim Spurling). Many plants are edible, the majority are medicinal in the right dosage. Find a good herbal guide and follow your intuition.
And have fun! (but not too much fun!)
When you say liver dump what do you mean? The gall bladder is a hollow organ, not the liver... Curious about what you are going for.
@madam-stone-leg It seems to me that "liver dump" is a colloquial term that it seems like is assigned to some sort of deeper purging action from the GI tract.
In general, I am looking for some pronounced improvement in the ease and effectiveness of my GI function. I have the experience that my digestion is sluggish and that my elimination is inefficient. I was raised on an absolute garbage diet and then proceeded to drink heavily and use recreational drugs and eat better quality but inconsistently. I've done prolonged water fasts and always been amazed how much keeps coming out after days without solid food.
I've also had the experience of feeling like even after a prolonged water fast (I've done 10 days several times and 3-7 days many times) there was still stuff in my gut. Several people that I've heard speak about their experience with coffee enemas have described hitting a point where they felt a dramatic purge that contained mucusy discharge that had the appearance of containing a fair bit of bile and experiencing a pronounced improvement in overall digestive function going forward. The theory I've seen put forward is that the stimulation of the gall bladder by the coffee enemas is triggering some sort of larger elimination process from the gall bladder/liver that is flushing the intestinal track more deeply.
I'm not married to a specific outcome, I'm trying to just observe my experience and reflect on what it means for deciding how enemas could fit into my general health maintenance and support program. But I am hoping to find some sort of deeper purge coupled with a general and ongoing improvement in my experience with digestion and elimination.
@personman I see. Your descriptions lead me to feel that we are kindred spirits in experience and experimentation. Body listening is a beautiful process and the intuition of healing grows with trying things and listening. I am going thru a journey about my gall bladder at this time, it is likely I will need to have it taken out. If you arent getting the results you are hoping for I encourage you to visit a regular doc and get an ultrasound to see if the gall bladder is messed up. After a decade of experimenting with herbs and diets I have reached the end of my tolerance for pain. Though the herbs and wholesome diets helped ease the symptoms and likely prolonged the life of my GB, it seems like getting the damned thing out of me may be the only satisfying solution. Hope I am not "oversharing," and that my tidbits help you toward feeling great in your own meat suit! Hearing other peoples stories helps me understand my own a lot better
@madam-stone-leg I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with that. My sister had hers removed a few years ago, although she did so without trying any dietary or other changes to aid it's function, and it definitely helped the problems she was having.
I'm lucky that my issues are nothing that severe. I'm also coming off a couple decades of excessive alcohol use so I'm in observation mode about what that will change as well.
Definitely just trying to reattune to my body and be more mindful and loving toward this vehicle I've been blessed with.
I hope that you find the path to health and comfort with your gall bladder
I recently completed a Liver and Gallbladder flush and I regularly have a coffee enema (monthly) but not had one since finishing the flush. Thanks for the reminder I will have me one this afternoon
@personman this is the protocol I followed:
- Drink 1–2 litres of organic apple juice throughout the day. Sip steadily rather than gulping.
- •Continue light vegetarian meals — salads, steamed veg, brown rice, miso soup.
- •No fried food, oils, butter, or heavy fats.
- •Eat raw apples when hungry — your liver loves apples!
- •Stay well hydrated with water and herbal teas between meals.
Do that for 5 days. On day 6:
- •Morning: Eat a substantial, fat-free breakfast — fruit, vegetables, miso soup, rice. This is your last meal for 24 hours.
- •2:00 PM — Stop all food. No snacking at all. Let your digestive system empty and rest completely. Water and herbal teas only (peppermint, hojicha). A little fresh lemonade with honey or apple juice is OK if kept to a minimum.
- •8:00 PM — 1st Epsom Salts. Mix 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt into 200ml of apple juice. Stir thoroughly and drink quickly (use a straw if needed). Follow with a cup of plain water.
- •10:00 PM — 2nd Epsom Salts. Same as 8pm — Epsom salt in apple juice, followed by water.
- •Midnight — The Olive Oil Flush. Be totally ready for bed. Put on sleepwear. Prepare optional bathroom tools (colander, jar for stone collection).
- •Measuring your olive oil by body weight: Under 50kg (8 stone): 80ml. 50–60kg (8–9.5 stone): 100ml. 60–75kg (9.5–12 stone): 120ml. 75–90kg (12–14 stone): 150ml. 90–110kg (14–17 stone): 180ml. Over 110kg (17+ stone): 200ml. Add half to equal volume of fresh lemon juice (e.g. 120ml oil + 60–120ml lemon). Pink grapefruit can replace lemon. If this is your first flush, start at the lower end of your range — you can increase next time.
- •Drinking: Shake oil and citrus juice together in a jar until frothy. Drink briskly or sip over 5–10 minutes through a straw. You may feel nauseous — breathe deeply. Brush teeth and go straight to bed.
- •Lie on your RIGHT side with knees tucked (foetal position). Stay still for at least 20 minutes. You will hear gurgling — this is the oil at work. Go to sleep and stay in bed as long as possible.
Day 7:
- •7:00 AM — 3rd Epsom Salts. Mix 2 teaspoons of Epsom salt (double strength) into 200ml of apple juice. Don't take this before 6am. You can go back to bed.
- •Expect diarrhea between 9am and noon. The first bowel movement may be regular; the second will likely be dark green. Do not plan to go anywhere today.
- •10:00 AM — 4th Epsom Salts (optional). Only if your bowels are not yet moving. Skip if you already have diarrhea.
- •Observing stones: They usually float. They can be large, blue-green and "fuzzy" or small like pebbles, ranging from blue-green to tan. They have the consistency of semi-hard rubber. Use a colander if you wish to observe them.
- •12 Noon onwards: Rest. Don't eat until you've had 2–3 bowel movements and feel naturally hungry. Start with juice, then fruit, light soup, steamed vegetables. Eat regularly by evening.
- •Continue a light vegetarian diet for 24 hours after the cleanse to allow your body to harmonise.
- •Important: Only do this flush on the waning to new moon phase. Never on a full moon.
@watchman-7iexk8shield-net Yes, I just tried something much like this process you describe. I got an ultrasound of the liver area... was convinced that I had some kind of exotic parasite or was going to need emergency surgery. I was in terrible pain. But the doc said its not an emergency, so I decided to take my time doing all I can to get better. I just completed basically the same as this liver/gallbladder flush you describe. My sponsor lent me a book about it by Andreas Moritz... So I went thru all that. It was kind of intense but I feel a lot better now. Thinking I might try doing this once/month for six months or so and see what happens. Also added knotweed root herb for breaking down biofilms. I dont love doing the enimas but understand the need for them. Healing is such a journey.
Yeah that Moritz protocol is serious business. I did one last year and shit a ton of marble sized green stones, some as big as shooter marbles. Tried it again this year, more strict on the protocol/diet, and had very few stones released. I think the healthy foods are important, but also learning one can attribute this lack of buildup to proper COMBINATIONS of food!!
(and here's some food for thought)
It's a well known fact that the stomach, when consuming animal proteins, must secrete Pepsin and such acidic compounds for the efficient digestion thereof.
It is also well established that, when consuming carbohydrates/starches, ptyalin and other alkaline juices are immediately secreted into the food by the saliva in the mouth. When swallowed, the alkalized starches require an alkaline medium in the stomach in order to complete their digestion.
Anyone should be able to figure out what therefore happens when you ingest protein and starch together...Acid and alkaline juices are both secreted in response to the incoming protein and starch, promptly neutralizing one another and leaving a weak, watery solution in the stomach that digests neither protein nor starch properly. Instead, the proteins putrefy and the starches ferment.
I'm suspicious that this is the primary cause of much digestive distress, including gas, heartburn, cramps, bloating, constipation, foul stools, bleeding piles, colitis, and eventual cancer. In fact, "rope worms" seem to be a direct effect of this, because in order to protect itself from the chronic toxic irritation of improperly combined meals, the colon secretes large quantities of mucus to entrap toxic particles before they damage the colon’s sensitive lining. If this occurs at every meal, every day, every week, throughout the year - as is quite typical in modern Western diets - the colon ends up secreting a constant stream of mucus, which accumulates and gets impacted in the folds of the colon. Gross.
Sounds like the end of the line for burger+fries, eggs+toast, meat+potatoes that rule western diets, but if you wonder why the body is capable of properly digesting foods that naturally contain both protein and starch, such as whole grains... I'm inclined to think that chewing ones food thoroughly enough gives time for the mouth and stomach to properly communicate and adjust secretions accordingly.
But that's just my opinion, if you want to be on the safe side, avoid consuming starches and proteins together, that's the big one>>>There are other food combos to be wary of which I could go on about, or you could read more for yourself in The Tao of Health, Sex, and Longevity. Please note the facts are well researched, but modern ways of thinking may disagree with some of the conclusions reached in this book.

Good health!
@icedmocha1 Fascinating, I can believe it. Food combos are a thing, I think about it a lot with spices and herbs. And fish with cheese is something that has always grossed me out. But I never considered meats and starches not mixing well! I think I'll give it a try. Been eating very little meats and fats, thinking eating meat once/week or less feels the best. Will try leaving them taters out. Many steamed veggies been ate, feels good. Thanks for ideas and reads.
After going thru the Moritz flush I kinda wonder if he is a sadist. But then, I gotta regard the results. I wonder if the epsoms salts was a little much, think it would be effective if I turn that part down a little next time?
@madam-stone-leg oh wow thank you for sharing that. I will add that book to my collection. I must admit I cut too many corners when I did it. I'd like to try again soon, properly.
I really hope it works out for you. Power to the plant! Also, Chance Garton of Innerverse has a herbal guy on from Tippecanoeherbs.com. he has tinctures for all sorts on there 🙏♥
