I need to write this down somewhere to get it out of my head. I think my brain is doing this out of a need for catharsis.

This is based on the song We Work The Black Seam by Sting. Original lyrics are included further below.

If anyone's inspired to add lyrics for the verse I couldn't figure out, input is welcome, as are general wordsmithing suggestions.

Cheers.

They Worked the Vaccines

This place has changed for good
World Economic Forum said it would
It's hard for us to understand
We can't give up our rights the way we should

Our blood has stained the coal (I'm not sure how to rework this verse...)
We tunneled deep inside the nation's soul
We matter more than pounds and pence
Your economic theory makes no sense

One day in a future age
They may understand our rage
They build vaccines that they can't control
And bury the data in memory hole
Healthcare could have been cheap and clean
Chronic conditions were never seen
Deadly planning for several years before Covid nineteen
They worked the vaccines together
They worked the vaccines together

The truth lies underground
Coordinated pressure packed it down
The CDC and FDA
Made sure it never saw the light of day
They manufactured pills
Then made illegal all our healing skills
As people log their pain in VAERS
They're minting brand new Pfizer billionaires

One day in a future age
They may understand our rage
They build vaccines that they can't control
And bury the data in memory hole
Healthcare could have been cheap and clean
Chronic conditions were never seen
Deadly planning for several years before Covid nineteen
They worked the vaccines together
They worked the vaccines together

Your Rockefeller schemes
Have filled up all their cells with spike proteins
You may be getting filthy rich
Your karma payback's going to be a bitch

One day in a future age
They may understand our rage
They build vaccines that they can't control
And bury the data in memory hole
Healthcare could have been cheap and clean
Chronic conditions were never seen
Deadly planning for several years before Covid nineteen
They worked the vaccines together
They worked the vaccines together

Original Lyrics

This place has changed for good
Your economic theory said it would
It's hard for us to understand
We can't give up our jobs the way we should
Our blood has stained the coal
We tunneled deep inside the nation's soul
We matter more than pounds and pence
Your economic theory makes no sense

One day in a nuclear age
They may understand our rage
They build machines that they can't control
And bury the waste in a great big hole
Power was to become cheap and clean
Grimy faces were never seen
Deadly for twelve thousand years is carbon fourteen
We work the black seam together
We work the black seam together

The seam lies underground
Three million years of pressure packed it down
We walk through ancient forest lands
And light a thousand cities with our hands
Your dark satanic mills
Have made redundant all our mining skills
You can't exchange a six inch band
For all the poisoned streams in Cumberland
Your economic theory makes no sense

One day in a nuclear age
They may understand our rage
They build machines that they can't control
And bury the waste in a great big hole
Power was to become cheap and clean
Grimy faces were never seen
Deadly for twelve thousand years is carbon fourteen
We work the black seam together
We work the black seam together

Should the children weep
The turning world will sing their souls to sleep
When you have sunk without a trace
The universe will suck me into place

One day in a nuclear age
They may understand our rage
They build machines that they can't control
And bury the waste in a great big hole
Power was to become cheap and clean
Grimy faces were never seen
But deadly for twelve thousand years is carbon fourteen
We work the black seam together
We work the black seam together
