Starboard companion document
For those of you who follow the work of Michael Wann, the Susquehanna Alchemist, you may be familiar with his Star Board, the instrument he uses to align himself with the heavens, and lay out tangible representations of a person's birth chart, etc.
I was fortunate to receive an in person session with Mike focused around this very useful instrument, and I have since gone on to craft several of my own Star Boards, with varying designs and functions, and have exchanged a myriad of notes and Ideas with Mr. Wann on the subject.
The attached document, Transit Speeds, is the result of information I gathered that would allow someone to adjust their own Star Board device on a daily basis to match the real-time motion of the heavenly bodies.
That is the primary function of this doc, to allow you to observe the daily progression of the sun, moon, and planets at their varying speeds, through each zodiac sign. It doesn't teach any of the core ideas of astrology, it doesn't tell you how to construct or use a Star Board, it really doesn't explain anything other than how fast each body appears to move from our vantage point. If all of society and technology crumble, and you are making it your personal task to keep track of the days, the alignments, the clockwork of the heavens so that humanity can, at the very least, remember "what day it is", whatever that means, then a document of this nature may be one of the resources that comes in handy. I would also recommend a good ephemeris and a farmer's almanac.
Michael Wann has an in-depth manual on the theory and use of his device, which I recommend you read if you want the full breakdown. I know he would send it to anyone who reaches out and requests it from him, and I would suggest dropping him a small donation for it if you can, as he put a great deal of work into it, as he does all of his projects.
So here you go, for the maybe one person who might put this to use.
Enjoy
I seemed to have created two versions of this, with only slightly varying details, and yes, I know there are typos. I edited AI responses and cut/pasted stuff, and probably could have made it a little neater, but hey, F*** you pal.
JK I love all of you.
Here's the other version.
