"Humor is not a mood but a way of looking at the world. So if it is correct to say that humor was stamped out in Nazi Germany, that does not mean that people were not in good spirits, or anything of that sort, but something much deeper and more important." ~ Ludwig Wittgenstein

Just got a very good feeling/vibe this past hour, first time since this all started.

I know it looks dark, but I'm thinking we're gonna make it friends! 😎

Edit: I'm definitely leaning to "evil is the absence of humor" as a philosophy. The utter lack of humor by the corona-fear proselytes should have keyed me off to their derangement even before I was able to put it together based on evidence and logic. Lesson learned.

They definitely can't withstand an opposition with a sense of humor

i tend to agree...my theory is that you can see which side has the intellectual high ground by which side is funnier. i'm old enough to remember a time when the left in america was the funnies, and hence had the intellectual high ground... now, clearly its the right. just look at the onion vs. Babylon bee

Having come of age in the height of Iraq War craze and having been a fan of Strangers with Candy, seeing what is happening to Stephen Colbert right now is a physically painful experience.

I think the dynamic has something to do with it being when you are clever enough to be a good comedian but on the wrong side, you have to pull all your punches. Most of the left leaning comedians I love look like they are pillow fighting at a prize match right now, especially around Covid.
