Some of my faves:

The Entity Letters - James McClenon

The Siren Call of Hungry Ghosts - Joe Fisher

Journeys Outside the Body - Robert Monroe

The Trickster and the Paranormal - George P Hansen

Synchronicity: Science Myth and the Trickster - Allan Combs and Mark Holland

Chaos - Tom O’Neil

Whiteout - Alexander Cockburn and Jeffrey St Clair

Project Beta - Greg Bishop

And while probably more psychology/philosophy than conspiracy/occult/paranormal, I also love anything by Patrick Harpur and The Dream and the Underworld by James Hillman.

A great conspiracy book is "Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops & the Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream" by David McGowan.  It examines the hippie counterculture and the possibility that it was a form of cultural engineering.

In a similar vein, the "Musical Truth" series by Mark Devlin is also excellent if you're interested in delving deeper into the music industry.
