someone who has dug into the post office

I posted about it in the joint session thread, and I'm starting a little digging to see of anyone has delved into it. I am increasingly certain there is some power in the post office that we have been trained not to see/understand. It existed since before the american revolution and Benjamin Franklin was its first leader. There has been a decades long war to undermine from our own government even though it has long been the most popular public institution in the country. What's up with USPS? Anyone have any leads for a time and attention strapped curious mind to follow?
